Help Me Hotline

Help me hotline logoHelp me Hotline is the heart of our Community Services program. It connects members of the community with services and agencies they are looking for with one simple phone call. Oftentimes people needing assistance don’t even know where to begin. Some don’t like to ask for help and others give up getting it because they tire of trying to unsuccessfully locate information they need. By providing a one-stop shop, the Help Me Hotline removes the guesswork, frustration, and time spent matching these individuals with the organization that can best help them.

Our local Help Me Hotline maintains an up-to-date database of agencies providing health and human services as well as availability so callers can expect a quick and accurate referral. We continuously monitor our database to ensure that we have a correct, comprehensive list of services available within the community.

Referral Specialists are available around the clock – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This means that information is accessible when people need it most. Our services are open to all members of the public; we have no limitations, eligibility guidelines, or fees for services provided.

At its core, Help Me Hotline is the art, science, and practice of bringing people and services together. Our Help Me Hotline specialists are certified and fully trained to provide service in a non-threatening, non-judgmental manner, while keeping all conversations confidential. Callers are educated regarding their situation and options, enabling them to make better informed decisions.

While most people access Help Me Hotline by phone, services are also available via walk-in, email, traditional mail, or through referral from another agency. In 2015 alone, Help Me Hotline issued more than 11,300 referrals, helping a total of nearly 29,000 people in the community, including many senior citizens and children.
